I received a good amount of criticism for my previous post COEXIST? – A Destructive Delusion
Based on the comments that were made and the questions that were asked of me I have realized that the people who support COEXIST have a deeply flawed idea of truth and love.
A common question I received was: “What makes your beliefs right and everyone else’s wrong? Other people believe in their god just as much as you believe in yours.”
This question implies that belief determines truth. For example if I believe in the God of the Bible then that’s the truth for me and if someone else believes in the god of Islam, then that’s the truth for them – and we are both equally entitled to our “truths”.
That is however the very ideology that I was rejecting in my first post. (more…)

COEXIST? – A Destructive Delusion

We have all seen the bumper stickers – COEXIST – created from the symbols of the worlds major religions. It’s the mantra of the new unity movement, knitting together the religions as if they’re all equal and true.  Coyly tossing the cross of Christianity at the end as if Jesus is one way among many; as if truth could be blended with untruth (the result of which is not an amalgam of unified truth, but pure untruth.) The only thing that makes me shake my head more than this movement is seeing a professing Christian who supports this COEXIST movement. In fact those people have some serious soul searching to do because Jesus doesn’t allow that option. Jesus doesn’t allow us to “COEXIST.” If we don’t serve Him and Him alone, we don’t serve Him at all.  (more…)

I Swear to God!

You’ve heard this before – or maybe you’ve said this before. It happens when someone tells a story that seems outrageous or when being questioned in disbelief – it just rolls off our tongues so naturally. “I swear to God it’s true! Believe me!”
It has become our standard. When we tell a story that sounds borderline unbelievable, just slip in a quick “I swear to God” and suddenly everything you say is golden – it’s all true!  (more…)
